Overcoming Self-Doubt: Building Self-confidence.
Self-doubt is one of the most common individual impediments to individual growth. It is manifested as indecisiveness, questioning and fear. Despite the likely aversion to it, doubt to oneself does not weaken an individual, it is a natural response to the ambiguity.
The problem arises when self doubt governs behavior. The avoidance will just enhance fear and retardation. Doubt is not eliminated so as to be confident but it is practiced to defeat it.
Self-doubt is generally due to the comparison. Comparing and self with others is to distort the image and to negate the self esteem. The process is an individual process since each individual has his/her experiences and set deadlines.
Evidence brings about confidence. Making makes it evidenced that it is possible to do. The cause of stagnation is to hang on until one is sure before making any action. In doing it, they will be able to establish confidence.
Inter-personal communication is significant. Blaming language arouses suspicion and encouraging language encourages perseverance. Making the conscious change is possible through realisation of internal narratives.
The other reason of self-doubt is errors. The majority of people interpret failure to be personal failure. Reconfiguring the mistakes as learning tools will transform them into growth tools.
Trust is achieved with time. Familiarity and competence is acquired even when there is poor repetition. In fact, it is not confidence but the consequence of said confidence that results in repetition.
There is a need to be self-compassing. Self-criticism is severe and demoralizing. Being patient with oneself assist in being emotionally strong and hard working.
Confidence is internal. It may be a nice thing to be confirmed by the outside world, but it is only possible to have confidence with the long-lasting efficacy by relying on personal convictions, taking actions and thinking it through.
